The Asylum Challenge.
When we last left our inmates, ghosts had started a-haunting. I finally discovered that it's F10 to hide the control panel, not Tab, and I installed both Nightlife and ACR for funzies.

Angel is finally in the right career path! Hurrah! So I make her go up her charisma points so she can climb that career ladder.

ACR kicks in and Hampstead and Edgeware cuddle. Aww.

Then they chat.

Goodge is displeased. In a shocking display of violence, she slaps Hampstead.

He attempts to return to his conversation, only to be brutally poked. I am shocked.

He weeps.

Angel continues chatting up her reflection, unaware of the drama below.

Aaaand Goodge goes back to her spot on the pavement.

Pillow fight!

Oh yay, and Angel is healthy! Things are looking up! :D

Hampsted is poke-target again. I'm surprised at the hatred between them. Then again, Goodge did joy-buzz him while he was cooking and consequently set the kitchen on fire.

She gets on better with Edgeware though.

They ignore poor poked Hampstead, crying in the corner.

He decides he's not going to take it any more and slaps her about.

She slaps him back.

Then she cries.

Edgeware tries to cheer her up and I finally realise that creepy thing he's doing? He's trying to tickle her.

No touchy.

And rage. Look at that firey fury!

AND THEN, DISASTER! I'd switched back to Gadwin, because I hate the crappy quality of the in-game camera, plus it has a horrid way of naming files. I'm fine doing the commentary because I sort by date, but Imageshack automatically sorts them by name so it's a pain to find the pic that goes with the comment. So. Was using Gadwin. Open Paintshop Pro to look through my caps and... it hadn't capped. I have several hundred caps of a black screen. From the cap up there until the end of the challenge. I know it's something to do with me trying windowed mode, but I have yet to fix it. So I shall have to narrate the rest.

So, ACR switched on the epic hated Goodge and Hampstead had for each other. They spent most of their time slapping and poking each other until they cried. Edgeware didn't do much except cry over the graves. Angel started getting promotions, but made sure to leave food out for the inmates every day. Then one day, Goodge ignored the food that was out and popped something into the oven. The food Angel had left out earlier caught her eye, so she left the oven and started a fire. Edgeware and Hampstead perished before Angel came home, but the fire department managed to put Goodge out. Unfortunately her needs had plummeted, so she passed out, woke up and died.

I thought about ending it there, because what use is an asylum with no inmates? But the aim of the challenge was also to get Angel her LTW, so I concentrated on that. She experienced ghost scares pretty much every night, got poked several times by Limehouse Docklands Light Railway for spying on him, before selling it to buy a chess set instead. She brought a guy home from work and they fell in love. And finally, on the day she was due to turn into an elder, she achieved her LTW. Yay!

After all that, I figured she'd earned her freedom. She moved out, brought a little house on the edge of town and called over her boyfriend, Kennedy. Moving meant the time reset to 8am so I got to see her leave for work in a helicopter. Kennedy hung around while she was gone. A chance card ended up demoting her to President, but as she'd already reached Business Tycoon and gone platinum, it didn't much matter. When she got home, she and Kennedy then woohooed all over the sofa, before she asked him to move in and marry her... just in time for her birthday.

Final score!
100
+20 - no influence used.
+8 - friends of the family.
-29 - days spent institutionalized.
-140 - 20 per roommate death.
=-41. Lol. Ah well, better luck next time!

Aww, I'm sorry you weren't able to get caps!

I forget to have Fraps actually, you know, RUNNING and so blissfully thought I was capping away all sorts of stuff in the Broke household including fights, a fire, and Dusting getting hauled home by the cops. HA HA HA NO.

Make sure that the hotkey assigned to take caps isn't already assigned to something else. When I first set it up, F10 (which is set to minimize the game's status bar) was the default screen cap key. I reset it to something else, and that hotkey was already in use to capture video or something.

Also, I've had Fraps simply stop working from time to time. Fraps is UP, but it isn't showing the counter in the corner of the screen, and when I take a cap it doesn't get taken/stored. I've solved this by, uh, rebooting my computer. I use Windows XP however.

Aw, man! Sad ending and no pics to show for it.

Well, better luck next time, as you said!
