Hi! I have a small present for you guys.



It's Holy Roman Empire in teen and child! I meant to do this ages ago when sayonara_chan first uploaded her adult HRE. The teen and child meshes of the outfit and cloak already existed, but the hat didn't. I had a look around for one, failed, and put the whole thing on the back burner for a while. But then, after making those bows for Seychelles, I decided to give it another go. And so, here you go, a child and teen Holy Roman Empire!



All the textures were yoinked straight from the original adult ones by sayonara_chan, I claim no credit for them. I just put them on different meshes. I didn't even need to touch the cloak textures, although the mesh has been updated to be compatible with Pets. If you are prone to flashing blue accessories, make sure my updated mesh is the one you use. The hat though, that's something else. The original one only came in adult, and you may have noticed that the teen glasses the mesh was cloned from had been left behind, so a teen HRE would wind up with hat-coloured glasses. I thought about changing that and adding in a child age, but I couldn't find any info on how to do so. Anyway, if you ever went and downloaded the original, you could lose all my changes. So, new mesh. It goes from child to elder and doesn't flash blue. This means that if you have the original adult, you'll probably have two identical hats for that age. They don't conflict or anything, so you can keep them both or delete one, entirely up to you.

Anyway! There's two links for each guy. The RAR file contains a Sims2pack and the separate accessory meshes because Bodyshop is made of suck and fail and won't include them. Double-click your S2P file and pop the meshes in your Downloads folder. The ZIP file contains all the separate files for those of you that can't use Sims2pack files. Unzip into your Downloads folder and enjoy. And don't forget when you make them in CAS that you need to have the right age selected for them to show up. Also, because they are technically too young to live alone, you will need to make a adult in order to create them. If you're making a batch of nations all at once, that's not a problem. If you want to just make Holy Roman Empire, you'll have to be creative. Me, I made him an adult and then aged him down. ^^

Now, I did have problems with the hat when I first tested it in the game. It would sort of turn itself inside out and bits would merge into other bits. It seems to be fixed, but please do let me know if you have any problems.

OH. And while you're here, I recently discovered that the modesty cap on Seychelles dress was a bit buggered up. Purely aesthetic, but mildly annoying. So I fixed it and updated all her files. Download the fixed dresses and let them overwrite your old files. Her full installation files have also been updated.

ETA 25/11/11 - Ugh, don't you just hate it when you make something, take pictures, pack it all up and post it and then two weeks later, glance at the preview picture and think 'hey... what's that gap on his neck?' Yup, I left a hole in the alpha of child Holy Roman Empire's outfit from where it was a nightgown in a previous life. The old Zip and Rar files have been updated with a fixed version, or if you've already installed him, grab the fixed file here.

ETA 10/12/11 - OH MY GOD one day I swear I will upload something and there will be no problems and everything will work. See, when I download accessories, because so many flash blue, I isolate them, check them, and fix them. So there I am, checking meshes and oh look, this one doesn't have the same amount of files in the GMDC as the SHPE. Broken. Wait, this file name looks familiar... ARGH.

ETA 18/12/12 - *headdesk* Yeah, so I should never really release any sim at all ever without first isolating them in my Downloads folder to test them. The broken hat mesh? Was the wrong mesh. The correct hat mesh was NOT broken. It also wasn't included. THIS IS WHY BODYSHOP SUCKS FOR NOT INCLUDING ACCESSORY MESHES ARGH. So! The links have once again been updated to include the correct mesh, and you can also download it here or here. If you have a file in your downloads called [sushigal007]MESH_HREHat_AllAges.package, delete it. It's attached to nothing and just takes up space. Sorry for the mix-up!

Ahh damnit. It seems the hat is still missing in my game when I check the teen and child HRE in BodyShop. Not sure if it's missing in my game too. Gonna check to see if it's like some missing hair in my bodyshop but it works in game.

Hmm, that's odd. Let me know what happens in game, and if it's still misbehaving, I'll clean out the Downloads folder on my laptop and add him back in just to be sure I haven't included the wrong hat mesh or something.

I tried redownloading the two all over again and hoped that it will work. It still wont show up in bodyshop. I tried the actual game and it wont show up as well. I guess it's not compatible with my game or something? I feel like I'm the only one having this problem ;A;

Although, I have absolutely no problem with Chibitalia (except, well, maybe me wanting an adult version now ;A;) and I checked my older HRE and he seems to be working fine. I guess only my kid!HRE is bitchy on me. The clothes seem to work fine but the hat is missing.

Is the hat showing up in the glasses/accessories section at all? I'm wondering if maybe I zipped up the hat recolour and mesh but forgot to actually put them on the head of the sim. I'll check him out on the laptop too, just in case I did something stupid like link the recolour to a different mesh.

ETA: Well, looks like it's not you! I've downloaded the zip and rar, and installed the ones on my hard drive and none of them show him with his hat. Looks like I've mucked things up somewhere. I do seem to have another hat recolour in my (now isolated) downloads folder that may be the correct one, I'm just testing it now.

ETA2: Well, that recolour file didn't work, nor did any of the others I could find, but it must be SOMEWHERE in my downloads folder because I added it back and oh look, there it is. So I'm going to try packaging him again, removing the downloads, reinstalling him and see if it works then. Fingers crossed!

Okay I redownloaded it and checked at bodyshop and he works perfectly! I guess that fixes our problem with the hat!

Finally I can include him and Chibitalia in my game!

Haha, thanks for fixing it! Also, I know this is going out of topic but, how do you create certain bump meshes (like the one for Japan's clothes) I tried every tutorial and stuff but I ended up rage!quitting and uninstalled Milkshape and SimPE (it turns out the reason why it crashed before because it's not compatible with certain programs I had) I need to know how you do your magic! Otherwise, I need to stick with that horrible dress for Monacco ;A;

Bump meshes? I'm... not quite sure what you mean. Any bump maps I find I usually do plain grey, although I did recently find a tutorial that said to greyscale the original image and invert it. But that doesn't sound like what you're talking about. :(

Surprisingly, that nakedFrance outfit you made became very useful (w/ the crotch rose) for Roma-Jii-Chan while he still doesn't have clothes.

Ah, do you mean UV maps? I seem to recall having to mess around with Japan's because there was something horrid going on with the neck. Basically, they're the outline of the entire mesh, usually place on top of a blue grid so you can see how the texture will be applied to a mesh. They're very helpful for recolouring because you can see where sleeves end and arms begin and stuff like that. They're not really difficult to get, but you do need to use SimpE and Milkshape, I'm afraid.

Been working on other stuff (I kinda gave up on the idea. Anyway, I'll just let other people do a better dress for Monaco if they find mine suckish) such as a Rome and Germania. Surprisingly I found a Roman armor to boot (it looks like an American football jersey though) but I'm particularly proud of Germania's clothes.Gonna upload them after the picture taking teehee

Hmm. That is pretty. OK, Challenge accepted! I'll give it a go after Christmas. ^^ I'm going on holiday for a few days at the beginning of January and I've been forbidden to take my uni work with me. I'll play with it then.
