Entry for maxis_taste dare 32

I was a bit stuck for what to do for this dare at first. I've made over a couple of community lots, but either the changes were too subtle, or I'd gone and altered walls, or I'd got halfway through and realised I'd forgotten to take a 'before' picture. Then Buggybooz posted her nooks and niches set, and over on GOS, CrabOfDoom mentioned that they'd be great for urn mausoleums such as at Gothier Green Lawns, so inspired, I had a go at making it over.


So here's a before picture. I didn't take pictures of the interior of the buildings because I forgot. But jsyk, the top three are mausoleums, the one at the front right is a TV room, the one at the front centre is toilets, which contain the only counters around, so sims go and put grilled hotdogs there and then sims of the opposite gender whine and complain that they can't get there, and the front left building is a... poker room? WTF?




This is the TV room now. You want entertainment, you read the Bible. While surrounded by urns.



Here's the large room inside the big mausoleum. It's got a big ol' flower arrangement that matches the urns.



Further down the room, you can sit down on a comfy sofa.



In the smaller room are more urns, including Skip Broke. The watchful monk guards over them.


I made over the toilets. The sinks are now in the same room as the toilet itself, and the outer room now contains a little waiting area.



But it's not all ~glooooooom~, that little poker room has now been turned into a little coffee bar with snack machines for budding ghost hunters to wait for nightfall.


And here's a final, overhead shot. I'm not much good at landscaping, so all I really did was give the place a paint job, replace the fences and swap the trees for weeping willows because I like them. And that's about it. Hopefully my dead sims will like it and oblige the knowledge sims I send there for spooking.

BONUS.

I made over the community lots in Strangetown.


Anyone know why there are rubbish bins on the roofs? Are aliens fly-tipping? Is it a new landscaping thing? Is it teenage pranksters? Enquiring minds want to know.

As for the rubbish bins... er... things are strange in Strangetown, I suppose?

I'm totally loving the shelf thingies. I spent all of yesterday extracting wallpaper to recolour them so I could put them in all my homes.
And yeah, Strangetown is very strange. There were more bins than that, but I didn't think to take pictures of the first few.

Aww you did a nice job on that. I used to not have much confidence with building makeovers, but as I've come to understand a few more building/lot rezoning stuffs, my confidence has grown like a sim learning hobby stuffs while sleeping LOL! XD

Is that what those are? 0.o;;;; God EA if you couldn't suck any more...

Thank you. I like how much more like a proper cemetery it looks now, instead of a park where graves happen to be.
I have no idea what the deal is with those bins!

I don't know. The problem is, of course, it's full of graves, which make it very tricky to share. I'm not sure exactly how to get around that. Perhaps if I resurrected all the Tricous and Skip? I dunno, I'll have to look into it.
