A week with the Tinkers

randomsushiWelcome back to the Uberhood. This week, I'll be playing with the Tinker family. I actually had this done a while ago but Semagic ate my words. :(
So, Wanda and Stephen. I don't know much about them other than they want to run a toy shop while their daughter doesn't, thanks to a traumatic clown-in-a-box incident in her early childhood. Also I have never hated an outfit quite as much as poor Wanda's. So looking forward to putting her into something cute and fashionable.
Not that you'll get to see it anytime soon, because Wanda's LTW is to see half a dozen children get married, so her and Stephen get right down to that.
And again.
And again.
And again. I was seriously contemplating fertility potions by the end of it.
Despite Melody despising toys, she still wants to learn how to make them.
Melody: First, a little melody for you.
Why the hell can no-one in my game cook?
Wanda: *sadface*
Meody wanted to be taught how to study, so Wanda made sure to do that before pregnancy exhaustion started.
Meanwhile Stephen got asked Downtown.
GODDAMIT LILITH.
Wanda has pretty awful morning sickness and sprays the entire bathroom with vomit several times a day.
As for Stephen, other than his outing, he hasn't been doing much other than running the little shop in the back garden. When he's not running it, he's crafting stock.
And Wanda is now visibly pregnant.
Hooray!
Stephen gets a cash register badge, but not soon enough to prevent Denise Jacquet's tantrum.
Denise: This place sucks! *riverdance*
Wanda's pregnancy is hitting her hard. She does this a lot.
When she does eventually manage to crawl into bed, she gets rudely awoken half an hour later to pop.
Wanda: And this is our living room-
Headmaster: HAW HAW HAW oh sorry, what was that? I just had a funny thought.
Wanda: ...Your turn, Stephen.
Stephen: So as you can hear, our daughter Melody plays a lovely melody.
Headmaster: That was a totally rubbish joke the first time round.
Wanda and Melody bond over breakfast.
I made Melody fertilise the garden ready for spring.
Stephen: She's at school. Where you should be.
Tara: Oops, gotta go, bye!
Hurrah!
Melody: Dad! I got an A+!
Stephen: That's great, honeeeeoooooow my fingers!
Today we learn - do not distract someone who is using a hammer. Poor Stephen.
The business does this quite a lot. I don't know why, but Stephen is terrible at making sales. Every time he tries, the star rating plummets, but being eternally optimistic, I keep making him do it in the hope that he'll get better.
Wanda: Close the store, babies are coming!
For once, this pleases me!
Melody: Boo hoo! But I hate working in my parents crappy toy shop!
/jk. She's just sad because one of the customers broke into her room and painting a horrible painting that I accidentally made her sell for nothing.
I stuck with the musical theme for the children, so meet twin boys, Harper and Piper!
Piper is on the left, Harper is on the right. They're generally good babies, content to lay on the floor all day and eat their feet.
Melody: Trust me, mum, it'll be fine.
Wanda: I'm just saying, cooking's difficult and easy to burn.
And after a quick meal to regain their stamina, it's off to make more babies!
Store's closed, they're busy.
Townie: But I really really need to buy a teddy!
Wanda: Are you picking at leftovers? I'm cooking right now.
Stephen: *gulp* Um... no?
Jules O'Mackey came home with Melody one day, so I sent them on an outing. They spent the whole time hanging out on the playground.
I figured Melody needed more friends than that though, so later on, she went to Belladonna Cove Public Library and played a little chess.
And then I made her talk to Lilith because if Lilith is left unattended, someone always feels the need to torment her. I don't know why, I could swear she didn't have a bad reputation!
Johnny Smith was also around, so Melody chatted to him too before heading home for her brother's birthdays.
Wanda grew up Harper.
And Melody (watched by a bunch of store customers) grew up Piper.
Piper: Paddling pool!
DAMMIT PIPER!
Oh... ew. Thank goodness she did that after he'd been playing in there and not before.
Melody: Now, now, Piper. Bathtubs are for washing in, not toilets.
Piper: I'll bathe where the hell I like, thankyouverymuch.
Fine, be that way. Melody will play with Harper instead!
Melody: Where's big sis? HERE she is!
Jules invited Melody on an outing. And then brought her ex and his new girlfriend. Awwwwwkward.
Jules: I needed backup, OK!?
Sandra: Did you think your new friend was gonna break up me and Jacob or something!? Huh? HUH?
Melody: I just wanted to watch a movie. :(
Oh sure, blame Melody.
Back home, the twins are adorable and cute and snuggly.
Don't touch people's stuff!

Stephen: Just look at the use of negative space on this bird drawing! My sons are geniuses!
I think that's a house.
Stephen: No, it's totally a bird. If you squint and turn your head to the side and maybe turn off the light, it's completely obvious.
Whoooo that's a big belly!
Melody: Who's your favourite big sister?
Harper: Melody!
Melody: Damn right I am!
Stephen: And that's why blocks are awesome.
Piper: Yay, blocks!
Not kidding, Piper really, really loves blocks.
And we end with him showing Harper how to build the perfect tower.

I enjoyed playing this household, the store and Wanda's pregnancies kept me very busy although I didn't take many pictures of it all. Poor Wanda had terrible pregnancies and spent loads of time sleeping, throwing up and gobbling down leftovers. I know she doesn't need six children and they could get married and then divorced and then married again, but I'd rather not hope they have unhappy marriages! Harper and Piper are adorable, but I kinda hope the next ones are girls, because I can't think of any other boys names. XD
Anyway, in honour of the fact that I'm going to take my daughter to the cinema to see Gnomeo and Juliet this weekend, I will be playing the Montys and the Capps next. But it'll be a while because I'm currently playtesting my genderswapped uberhood. I don't take anywhere near as many pictures of it, but if you want to look at some of the funnier moments and horrifying fuckups I've made, you can take a peek over on my tumblr.

Genderswapping sims is actually really easy. There's a tutorial if you wanna have a look. (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php?topic=109024.0) It got a bit tedious doing it to everyone, and for completeness, I also changed all the names in the lot descriptions and catalogue descriptions, swapped the pregnancies around in the Patel and Ottomas families and reversed everyone's chemistry. But it was worth all the work!
